Place of Changing Winds Between Two Mountains Pinot Noir is a Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir, and the estate's only Pinot from the season.

Just one Pinot Noir came out of the three-hectare Bullengarook vineyard in 2023. As Robert Walters tells it, the cool late season left the Beyond the Forest and High Density parcels a whisker short of deserving their own labels, so he and Rémi built the best blend they could from the best ferments and declassified the rest. Whole bunches made up close to a third, and the wine spent 21 months across Stockinger casks of 228, 500, 600 and 1,000 litres plus some glass Wineglobe fermenters, with only around 5 per cent new oak. Bottling was in January 2025.

Perfumed and complex: crystalline red fruit, Asian spice, violet and rose, with a sweet core that speaks to low yields more than to the cool year, and fine structure for ageing. Decant it and serve at 15 degrees, with duck, veal or roast beetroot and grains.
