Poggio Anima Primitivo Salento Lilith 2023

Poggio Anima Lilith is a Primitivo from Salento, the heel of Italy.

Primitivo is genetically the same grape as Zinfandel, and in Puglia's hot, dry south it ripens to high sugar and gives a rich, dark red. Salento covers the long peninsula between the Adriatic and Ionian seas, where sea breezes temper the heat. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and given a short period in oak.

Serve at 17 degrees with barbecued meats, hard cheese or a rich stew. Drink within six years.
