Description
Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a Sangiovese from the hills around the Tuscan town of Montepulciano.
Vino Nobile was among the first wines in Italy awarded DOCG status, made principally from Sangiovese, known locally as Prugnolo Gentile, grown on clay and sand at altitude in southern Tuscany. It requires two years of ageing before release. Poliziano was founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti and has been run since the late 1970s by his son Federico, whose work on clonal selection and vineyard density reshaped the estate.
Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast meats, game or pecorino. It develops over twelve years.
