Pooley Wines Cooinda Vale Pinot Noir 2024

Pooley Wines Cooinda Vale Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard Tasmanian Pinot Noir from the family's Coal River Valley estate.

The Coal River Valley, north east of Hobart, is one of Tasmania's most important Pinot Noir districts, its low rainfall and cool maritime climate giving a long ripening season. Pooley Wines is a family estate founded by Denis and Margaret Pooley and now run by the third generation, with Anna Pooley making the wines. This Pinot Noir is drawn from the family's Cooinda Vale vineyard at Campania, a dry, sunny site where the grapes ripen slowly while retaining their natural acidity. The wine is matured in French oak and sealed under screwcap to preserve its freshness.

Fine-boned and fresh, it suits duck, salmon and mushroom dishes; serve at around 15 to 16 degrees.
