Pooley Wines Cooinda Vale Riesling is a single-vineyard Tasmanian Riesling from the family's Coal River Valley estate.

Pooley Wines is a family estate in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, founded by Denis and Margaret Pooley and now run by the third generation, with Anna Pooley as winemaker. The Cooinda Vale vineyard at Campania sits in the rain shadow of the island's western ranges, one of the driest and sunniest parts of Tasmania, where a long, cool ripening season preserves natural acidity. Riesling has long been a signature variety for the Pooley family, and this wine comes entirely from Cooinda Vale fruit. It is fermented in stainless steel to keep the focus on the vineyard and the variety's natural acidity, and is sealed under screwcap to preserve its freshness and allow it to develop slowly in bottle.

Dry, taut and precise, it suits oysters, scallops and lightly spiced Asian dishes; serve at around 8 to 10 degrees.
