Pooley Wines Elizabeth Anne Chardonnay 2024

Pooley Wines Elizabeth Anne Chardonnay is the family's top Chardonnay from the Cooinda Vale vineyard in the Coal River Valley.

Pooley Wines is a family estate in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, founded by Denis and Margaret Pooley and now run by the third generation, with Anna Pooley as winemaker. The Elizabeth Anne Chardonnay sits in the black label reserve range and comes from selected fruit grown on the Cooinda Vale vineyard at Campania. The district's low rainfall, abundant sunshine and cool maritime climate give Chardonnay a long ripening season and bright natural acidity. The wine is fermented and matured in French oak barrels, building texture while keeping the tension characteristic of Tasmanian Chardonnay, and is sealed under screwcap.

Poised and layered, it suits roast chicken, crayfish and creamy pasta; serve at around 10 to 12 degrees.
