Pooley Wines Jack Denis Pinot Noir 2024

Pooley Wines Jack Denis Pinot Noir is the family's reserve Pinot Noir from old vines on the Cooinda Vale vineyard.

Pooley Wines is a family estate in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, founded by Denis and Margaret Pooley and now run by the third generation, with Anna Pooley as winemaker. The Jack Denis Pinot Noir is part of the black label reserve range and is drawn from the oldest vines on the Cooinda Vale vineyard at Campania, planted in 1992. Around 70 percent of the blend comes from the Abel clone, a selection prized in Australia and New Zealand for its depth and structure. The Coal River Valley's dry, sunny yet cool climate gives a long ripening season, and the wine is matured in French oak before bottling under screwcap.

Deeper and more structured than the estate Pinot Noir, it suits roast duck, venison and wild mushrooms; serve at around 16 degrees.
