Pooley Wines Margaret Pooley Tribute Riesling 2024

Pooley Wines Margaret Pooley Tribute Riesling is the estate's reserve Riesling, named in honour of the family matriarch.

Margaret Pooley and her husband Denis established the family's first vineyard in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, and the estate is now run by their grandchildren, with Anna Pooley as winemaker. The Tribute Riesling belongs to the black label reserve range and is made from selected parcels of the Cooinda Vale vineyard at Campania. The Coal River Valley is among the driest and sunniest parts of Tasmania, yet its cool maritime climate gives a long, slow ripening season that suits Riesling's natural acidity. The wine is fermented cool to retain its purity and is sealed under screwcap for freshness and graceful bottle development.

Concentrated yet tightly focused, it pairs with crab, pork belly and Thai-style salads; serve at around 8 to 10 degrees.
