Pooley Wines Pinot Grigio is a crisp Tasmanian white made in the fresh, unoaked Italian Grigio style.

Pooley Wines is a family estate in the Coal River Valley near Richmond, north east of Hobart, where the Pooley family planted their first vines in the mid 1980s and a third generation now runs the business, with Anna Pooley making the wines. The Coal River Valley sits in the rain shadow of the hills around Hobart, making it one of the driest and sunniest corners of Tasmania, yet the island's cool maritime climate keeps ripening slow and acidity high. The Grigio name signals the lighter, crisper Italian expression of Pinot Gris rather than the richer Alsace style. The fruit is picked early for freshness, fermented cool in stainless steel without oak and bottled young under screwcap, keeping the wine bright and easy.

Light and refreshing, it suits antipasto, grilled fish and salads; serve well chilled at around 8 degrees.
