Primo Estate Joseph Angel Gully Shiraz 2022

Primo Estate Joseph Angel Gully Shiraz is a top-tier McLaren Vale Shiraz from the family's flagship Joseph range.

Joseph is the premium label of Primo Estate, carrying the name of winemaker Joe Grilli and reserved for the family's most serious wines. Angel Gully is a vineyard in the higher, cooler hills around Clarendon, at the northern edge of McLaren Vale, where elevation gives Shiraz extra perfume, structure and length. The wine shows layers of dark and red fruits with herbs and spice. It has been made to be delicious on release while also rewarding long cellaring, and it is a fine illustration of why McLaren Vale Shiraz is so admired.

Decant for an hour if drinking now and serve at 16 to 18 degrees. Slow-roasted lamb shoulder, beef short ribs or a hard aged cheese will match its depth. Well cellared, it should keep developing for a decade or more.
