Primo Estate Pecorino 2024

Primo Estate Pecorino is a fragrant white made from an ancient Italian grape, grown in South Australia's first Pecorino planting.

Pecorino comes from Le Marche on Italy's Adriatic coast, the birthplace of Primo Grilli, the founder whose name the winery carries. Bringing the variety to South Australia was a natural step for the family, and these vines were the first of their kind planted in the state. In Italy the grape is prized for its freshness and aromatic lift, and here it shows stone fruit, lemon blossom and almond. The wine is made to preserve that natural fragrance and crisp acidity, giving a lively, textural white with a gently savoury edge.

Serve well chilled with grilled fish, seafood risotto, stuffed zucchini flowers or, for a playful match, a plate of pecorino cheese.
