Description

Pyramid Valley North Canterbury Pinot Noir is a red from North Canterbury in New Zealand, made from Pinot Noir.

North Canterbury lies on the eastern side of the South Island, dry and cool, and the limestone-bearing clays of the Waipara and Waikari valleys are what the area is known for with Pinot Noir. Pyramid Valley farms there. We hold no winemaking notes for this release and have not filled the gap.

New Zealand Pinot Noir from a cool region like this usually runs to red cherry and a savoury, earthy edge, with fine tannin rather than weight. Serve at 14 to 16 degrees with duck, mushrooms, or lamb.
