Quartz Reef Methode Traditionnelle Blanc de Blancs 2019

Quartz Reef Blanc de Blancs is a vintage traditional-method sparkling made entirely from Chardonnay.

Rudi Bauer, who founded the winery, came from Austria and has made sparkling wine in Central Otago since the 1990s, when few believed the region could do it. The cold nights give the high-acid base the method needs. A blanc de blancs uses white grapes alone, and this one spends years on lees before disgorgement.

Serve at 9 degrees with oysters, roast chicken or a hard cheese. It develops over eight years.
