Description
Quealy Feri Maris Pinot Grigio is a concentrated single-block Grigio from a long, cool growing season.
A long, cool 2026 season kept crops low to moderate and gave the wine concentration and drive. Hand-harvesting fell on 23 March; whole bunches went to the press and the juice settled overnight before a rough racking with partial solids into stainless steel and hogsheads, a third of the wine in barrel with half of those new. The ferment ran wild with no sulphur added, and the wine was left on lees without stirring. The source is a single block in the home vineyard at Balnarring, planted in 1982 and now nearly a decade into full organic farming.
Powerful and mineral, with citrus, nashi pear, white flowers and a long saline finish carried by fine acidity. Serve at 10 degrees and give it room in the glass. Match it with grilled fish, roast chicken, or a salad of fennel, apple and parmesan.
