Description
Quealy Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir is a four-vineyard blend from the estate's premium sites.
Four vineyards feed the 2021, from the low-lying Campbell and Christine on the coastal plain up to the block on Main Ridge that ripens weeks later. Clones and vine ages vary widely across them; the constant is that every vine is farmed by the estate. Each batch was matured separately in a mix of new and older barrels for fifteen months, and only then assembled and bottled, which is a slower way to work than blending early but keeps the character of each site intact until the final call. The result is the most immediately drinkable Pinot in the range.
Bright red fruits, a lift of florals and gentle spice, with fine tannin and a juicy finish. Ready now. Serve at 15 to 16 degrees. Good with roast chicken, charcuterie, pork and sage sausages, or a beetroot and walnut salad.
