Quealy Pobblebonk Field Blend 2025

Quealy Pobblebonk Field Blend is a certified organic field blend led by Friulano, grown at Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula.

Established in 1982, the Balnarring vineyard is among the earliest plantings on this part of the coast, and it is now certified organic and dry-grown. The 2025 mix runs Friulano at half, Riesling at twenty-six per cent, Pinot Grigio at seventeen, with small measures of Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia rounding it out. Fruit was picked by hand and pressed as whole bunches, then fermented in seasoned French oak, which keeps the oak influence to texture alone. Nothing was fined or filtered, and only a small sulphur addition went in at bottling. Moderate yields and a clean ripening run gave the vintage its balance.

Citrus blossom, pear skin and crushed garden herbs, with a saline, textured palate that finishes savoury and bright. Serve it at 11 degrees in a decent-sized glass. Whiting with lemon, chicken and tarragon, or a plate of oysters all work well.
