Quealy Tussie Mussie Pinot Gris 2025

Quealy Tussie Mussie Pinot Gris is a mineral, lees-aged dry Pinot Gris from the Mornington Peninsula.

Twenty twenty-five was a strong year for both the Gris and the Grigio in this cellar. Hand harvesting came in early March, and the whole bunches were pressed on an extended cycle to draw gentle phenolics before fermenting on high solids and resting on lees in stainless steel. The vineyard itself dates to 2007, planted on the site of a former rose farm at Merricks North, three hectares of Pinot Noir and Gris in deep red volcanic clay on a north-facing slope. Slow ripening is the point of the site: it builds complexity while the natural acidity stays put.

Pear skin, quince and jasmine with a touch of almond and spice, the palate finely weighted but textural, ripe orchard fruit against taut acid and a long mineral close. Serve at 10 degrees with roast chicken, pork and fennel, or a plate of grilled prawns.
