Description

Radford Dale Vinum Stellenbosch Grenache is a perfumed, red-fruited Grenache from South Africa's best-known wine region.

Grenache is a relative newcomer in South Africa compared with Syrah or Pinotage, but it suits the warm, dry Cape summers and is drawing growing attention. The Radford Dale winemakers source this one from Stellenbosch for their Vinum range. It is deep crimson, with pronounced redcurrant and perfumed strawberry aromas. The palate is generously fruited but kept in check by firm, polished tannins, before a lingering pomegranate finish. It is a fresh, food-friendly red that shows how well the variety can do in the Cape.

Serve at 15 to 17 degrees. Try it with roast pork, chicken with chorizo, paella or lamb kofta.
