Radio-Coteau Sonoma Coast La Neblina Pinot Noir 2021

Radio-Coteau Sonoma Coast La Neblina Pinot Noir is a three-vineyard Pinot Noir from western Sonoma's coastal sites.

Three sources come together in the 2021. Alberigi, organically farmed on Russian River Valley Goldridge loams, gives the elegant and restrained end. Dierke, a certified organic hillside planting from 2006 on the western flank of Sebastopol, brings power and expression. And the estate vineyard at Occidental, twelve kilometres from the ocean, adds wild spice and a silky feel. A clonal patchwork across all three takes in 777, 114, 115, Mount Eden, Calera and a Burgundian heirloom selection. Twenty per cent whole bunches went into the ferment, only free-run juice to neutral tight-grained barriques and puncheons, and sixteen months of maturation preceded bottling unfined and unfiltered.

Perfumed and seductive, with wild berry, forest floor, blood orange and warm spice, the texture pitch-perfect and the close lingering. Serve at 15 degrees. Try it with duck confit, veal with morels, or a mushroom and thyme tart.
