Description
Ragnaud-Sabourin Paradis Héritage G. Briand is a very old cognac from Grande Champagne, the first growth of the Cognac region.
Ragnaud-Sabourin is a family estate at Ambleville, in the heart of Grande Champagne, and works only with its own vineyards, distilling and ageing everything on the property rather than buying in spirit. Grande Champagne is the innermost of Cognac's six crus, and its soft chalk soils are prized for eaux-de-vie that need decades in oak before they are ready. Paradis takes its name from the paradis itself, the sealed cellar where a house keeps its oldest reserves in glass demijohns, out of contact with wood so that they stop evolving and simply wait. Bottlings at this level are drawn from small reserves laid down by earlier generations of the family, and are released in tiny quantities.
Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass, without ice, at the end of a meal.
