Ramos Pinto Tawny Port

Ramos Pinto Tawny is a barrel-aged fortified wine from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal.

A tawny is aged in cask rather than bottle, so it oxidises slowly and turns from red to amber, taking on nut and dried-fruit character. The Douro was the world's first demarcated wine region, defined in 1756, and its terraced schist slopes above the river are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ramos Pinto was founded in 1880 and built its reputation on the Brazilian export trade and its art nouveau advertising.

Serve in small glasses at 14 degrees with nuts, hard cheese or chocolate. An opened bottle keeps for months.
