Description

Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese 2022 is a Sangiovese from the Canberra District in Australia.

Ravensworth works out of Murrumbateman in the Canberra District, north of the city, where vineyards sit at several hundred metres and the nights are cold even in midsummer - the reason Italian varieties with high natural acidity have found a footing there. This is the estate bottling rather than one of the single-clone releases. Specific cellar details for the 2022 are not in the material supplied.

Canberra District Sangiovese generally shows sour cherry and dried herb over bright acidity and a dry, chalky tannin. Serve at 15 to 17 degrees with pasta and tomato, pizza, roast lamb or pecorino.
