Recaredo Corpinnat Serral del Vell Brut Nature is a biodynamic single-vineyard sparkling wine from the most limestone-rich soils on the estate.

Corpinnat is a grower-led designation in the Alt Penedes, north of Barcelona, requiring organic fruit, hand harvesting, estate vinification and long lees ageing. Recaredo is one of its founding houses and farms biodynamically, disgorging every bottle by hand without freezing and adding no dosage. This cuvée is 85 per cent Xarel·lo and 15 per cent Macabeu, taking its name from the sloping Serral del Vell estate below the Montserrat massif. The plateau soils carry calcareous lumps and a good deal of limestone eroded from the Serra del Mar and Serra Catalana, with 33 per cent active limestone in the most mineral parcels. The Xarel·lo was planted in 1996 and 1997 and the two Macabeu plots in 1989. Only the Xarel·lo base wines are fermented in large-format oak; the Macabeu is kept in tank.

Ready on release and capable of several years in bottle; serve at 8C with oysters, grilled prawns or a plate of Iberico ham.
