Recaredo Corpinnat Turó d'en Mota de Recaredo Brut Nature 2001 Disg. May 24 Wooden Gift Box

Turó d'en Mota is a single-vineyard, single-variety Xarel·lo sparkling wine, and this bottle is the second release from Recaredo's long-aged Enoteca programme, disgorged by hand in May 2024 after almost twenty-two years under cork.

Recaredo is based at Sant Sadurní d'Anoia in the Penedès and is a founding member of Corpinnat, the group that left Cava to bottle under its own name. The Turó d'en Mota cuvée takes its name from a knoll within the Serral del Vell vineyard: just under one hectare of goblet-trained Xarel·lo planted in 1940, at almost 300 metres on the northern side of the hill. The soils, farmed biodynamically since 2010 and certified organic, hold calcareous lumps and a good deal of limestone eroded from the Serra del Mar and Serra Catalana, with around 33% active limestone. Just 150 bottles of this release were disgorged, by hand and with no dosage. It arrives in a wooden gift box.

A collector's bottle, ready now and stable for years yet. Serve at 8°C, in a white wine glass rather than a flute, with aged cheese, roast poultry or on its own.
