Recolte du Domaine Olivier Leflaive Meursault 1er Cru Blagny Sous le Dos d'Âne is a white Burgundy from a premier cru high on the boundary between Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet.

Blagny is a hamlet perched above the two villages, and its name works oddly within the Burgundian system: red wine from the slope is sold as Blagny, while white from the same ground takes the name of Meursault or Puligny depending on which commune it falls in. Sous le Dos d'Âne lies on the Meursault side, high up on thin limestone, and the altitude gives a firmer, cooler style than the vineyards down near the village. Olivier Leflaive set up his house at Puligny-Montrachet in 1984, and the Récolte du Domaine designation marks the wines grown on the family's own vines rather than made from purchased fruit.

Serve at around 12 degrees, in a full-sized glass, with poultry in cream, scallops or hard mountain cheese. It will continue to develop for the best part of a decade.
