Redbank Victorian Shiraz 2023

Redbank Victorian Shiraz is a medium-bodied, spicy Shiraz with a savoury twist from a dash of Sangiovese.

Victoria's cooler climate tends to produce Shiraz with more pepper and spice than the richer styles of South Australia, and this wine from Redbank's King Valley base follows that pattern. It is bright crimson, with plum, forest fruits, vanilla pod, white pepper and savoury spice on the nose. The palate offers dark berry, tobacco leaf and chocolate flavours with generous mid-palate fruit. A small portion of Sangiovese in the blend adds a grainy, rustic edge and a moreish tannin finish.

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees with slow-cooked lamb, beef burgers, pepper steak or a mushroom ragù.
