Reyneke Estate Range Chenin Blanc 2024

Reyneke Estate Range Chenin Blanc is a biodynamically grown white from the oldest Chenin vines on the Reyneke farm in Stellenbosch.

Chenin Blanc is the Cape's signature white grape, and on this family property in the Polkadraai Hills it comes from the oldest plantings on the farm. The vineyards sit close enough to False Bay for sea breezes to temper the summer heat, which helps the grapes hold their natural acidity. Johan Reyneke converted the estate first to organic and then to biodynamic farming, and it was the first South African wine estate to gain biodynamic certification. The result is a delicate but expressive Chenin with quince, pear, white nectarine and a hint of ginger, a gentle citrus lift and fine, well-judged acidity, finishing with a touch of apple pith.

Keep it well chilled but not icy, around 8 to 10 degrees, so the texture can show. Try it with roast chicken, pork belly, a Cape Malay-style curry or soft cheeses.
