Rieslingfreak No.2 Polish Hill River Riesling 2026

Rieslingfreak No.2 is a dry Riesling from Polish Hill River in the eastern Clare Valley.

John Hughes founded Rieslingfreak in 2009 to make nothing but Riesling, numbering each wine by style and site rather than naming it. Polish Hill River has thin topsoil over broken slate, which forces the vines to struggle and gives a tighter, more austere wine than the limestone-based sites at Watervale. The fruit is whole-bunch pressed, fermented cool and bottled dry without oak.

Serve at 8 degrees with oysters, sashimi or a citrus-dressed salad. It will age for a decade or more.
