Description

Rieslingfreak No.9 is a sparkling Riesling made in the German Sekt style.

Sekt is Germany's sparkling wine, and the best of it is made from Riesling, which keeps the acidity the method needs. Almost no one in Australia makes it. The fruit comes from the Clare Valley, where cold nights at 400 metres give the same high-acid base. The wine undergoes a second fermentation and rests on lees before disgorgement.

Serve at 8 degrees as an aperitif, or with fried food, pork or sushi. Drink on release.
