Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Margaret River Cabernet with dark berries, a touch of mocha and soft, fine tannins.

Western Australia's Margaret River has a maritime climate, cooled by the Indian and Southern oceans, and it has become one of the country's benchmark sources of Cabernet Sauvignon. Long, even ripening seasons give ripe but not heavy fruit, often with a hint of sea spray and leafiness that marks the regional style. The label is part of the Hill-Smith family stable alongside Yalumba. The 2024 is deep crimson, with bright red and dark berries, chocolate and mocha, and subtle spiced oak, then cherry, boysenberry and satsuma plum on a medium- to full-bodied palate with soft tannins and good length.

Pour it at 16 to 18 degrees. It is a natural partner for steak off the barbecue, lamb cutlets or a mushroom and lentil pie, and a short decant will help it open up.
