Description

Robert Stein Farm Series Merlot is an easy-drinking Merlot from Mudgee in central New South Wales.

Mudgee lies west of the Great Dividing Range at around 450 to 600 metres, with warm dry days, cold nights and some of the oldest continuously worked vineyard land in Australia. Robert Stein was founded in 1976 by a descendant of Johann Stein, who brought the first vine cuttings to Australia for the Macarthur family in the 1830s, and the property is now run by the fourth generation. The Farm Series is the early-drinking tier: fermented in stainless steel, matured briefly in older oak, bottled without heavy extraction.

Serve at 16 degrees with roast chicken, pasta, burgers or a mild cheese. Drink within three years.
