Robert Weil Kiedrich Gräfenberg Grosses Gewächs is the estate's only dry grand cru bottling, made from its oldest vines.

The vineyard of Kiedrich Gräfenberg, the hill of the counts, has designated Weil's finest wines since it was officially classified as Weinlage 1 Klasse in 1867. It is home to the estate's oldest vines, up to 80 years of age and mostly on their own rootstock, and although Wilhelm Weil could release Grosses Gewächs from more than one site he has chosen to draw it from here alone. The aim is to recreate the style, quality and scale of the full-bodied dry Rheingau Rieslings of a century ago, when the region's best wines were among the most expensive in the world. The greater proportion of loess and loam in the Gräfenberg soils adds a textural dimension that the Turmberg and Klosterberg wines do not have. This release was raised for 10 months on lees in large, neutral Doppelstückfass casks from Stockinger.

Worth cellaring for a decade or more, and best decanted if opened young; serve at 10–12°C with roast pork, pike-perch or a mature Alpine cheese.
