Description
Rocche Costamagna Barolo DOCG Rocche dell'Annunziata Riserva Bricco Francesco is a Barolo Riserva from the top section of one of La Morra's most highly regarded vineyards.
Bricco Francesco comes from the highest and best-exposed part of the family's holding in Rocche dell'Annunziata, where Nebbiolo grows on calcareous clay and Sant'Agata marl. It is made only in the finest vintages and is named after Francesco Costamagna, an ancestor of the present owners. The family has been producing wine in La Morra since 1841, and Alessandro Locatelli runs the estate today. Fermentation involves around three weeks on skins at a controlled temperature, followed by two years in oak casks and a long rest in bottle, so the Riserva is released roughly five years after harvest.
Decant for at least an hour and serve at 16 to 18 degrees. This is a full-bodied, structured Nebbiolo for braised beef, brasato al Barolo, game, truffle dishes or aged Parmigiano. The estate suggests it can age for 15 to 25 years from vintage.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
