Rocche Costamagna Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is a traditionally made Barolo from a celebrated La Morra vineyard, bottled here in magnum.

Few sites in La Morra carry the reputation of Rocche dell'Annunziata, a natural amphitheatre of vines whose wines are known for finesse and perfume. This historic family estate, which dates from 1841, has a parcel there and treats it as its signature wine. The grapes are all Nebbiolo, and the winemaking follows local custom: a long, gentle fermentation on skins and slow maturation in large casks that soften the tannins without adding strong oak flavour. Alessandro Locatelli, a descendant of the founder, oversees the vineyards and cellar.

A magnum is the ideal format for long ageing and for a table of six or more. Decant well ahead and serve at 16 to 18 degrees with roast lamb, osso buco, a slow-cooked ragù or truffle pasta. Expect it to develop for fifteen years and beyond in a good cellar.
