Sailor Seeks Horse Lumine Pinot Noir 2025

Sailor Seeks Horse Lumine Pinot Noir comes from the estate vineyard at Cradoc in Tasmania's Huon Valley, the southernmost winegrowing district in Australia.

Sailor Seeks Horse is the small Huon Valley estate of Paul and Gilli Lipscombe, south of Hobart. The couple learned their craft in Burgundy and Bordeaux before returning to Tasmania and replanting an abandoned vineyard on a sloping site at Cradoc, which they farm organically and work largely by hand. The Huon is cool and maritime, with a long slow ripening season that holds acidity and keeps alcohol moderate, and the Lipscombes make in small batches with wild ferments, whole bunches where the fruit allows, maturation in French oak and as little intervention as the vintage permits. Lumine is a recent addition to the range.

Fine-boned and perfumed, it suits roast duck, salmon, mushroom dishes and charcuterie; serve at around 14 to 16 degrees.
