Saint Clair Origin Pinot Gris 2023

Saint Clair Origin Pinot Gris is an off-dry, textural Pinot Gris from Marlborough with poached pear and warm spice.

Saint Clair began when Neal and Judy Ibbotson, who first planted vines in Marlborough in 1978, moved from supplying grapes to making wine under their own label. Their Origin range captures the region's clear, bright fruit in approachable styles. Pinot Gris here benefits from sunny days and cool nights, which build ripe flavour while holding acidity. This wine is made off-dry, with a little residual sweetness adding weight, and shows vanilla, cinnamon and flaky pastry aromas, then spiced poached pear, vanilla custard and a clean mineral finish.

Serve it nicely chilled. The gentle sweetness makes it a good match for spicier food, so try it with pork and ginger dumplings, Thai fish cakes or a mild chicken curry.
