Description

Saint Clair Origin Pinot Noir is a fruit-forward Marlborough Pinot Noir with boysenberry, black cherry and gentle oak.

Marlborough is best known for Sauvignon Blanc, but its long, sunny autumns and cool nights also produce generous, well-coloured Pinot Noir. Founded by local growers Neal and Judy Ibbotson, Saint Clair makes its Origin Pinot to show that ripe, approachable side of the region. Some time in oak adds toasty spice without taking over. The 2025 is dark garnet, with perfumed red berries and savoury notes, then boysenberry, black cherry and spice on the palate, delicate tannins and a long finish.

Serve at around 14 to 16 degrees, a little cooler than a bigger red. It is a flexible food wine for roast chicken, salmon, pork fillet or mushroom dishes.
