Saint Clair Origin Pinot Noir 375ml is a half-bottle of Marlborough Pinot Noir, handy for a solo dinner or a glass each for two.

This family-owned Marlborough winery is still run by the Ibbotsons, who planted their first vines in the region well before it became famous. The Origin range draws on regional fruit for fresh, approachable varietal wines, and the Pinot Noir leans toward the riper, darker end of the Marlborough spectrum, with gentle oak for extra texture. Here, ripe summer berries, savoury notes and a hint of toasted oak lead to boysenberry, black cherry and raspberry with a little spice, and an elegant, smooth structure with a long toasty finish.

A light chill to around 15 degrees suits it. Pair with duck pancakes, lamb koftas, a charcuterie plate or a Friday-night pizza.
