Saint Clair Pioneer Block 1 Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 1 Sauvignon Blanc is a single-vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with blackcurrant, passionfruit and a chalky, mineral finish.

The Pioneer Block series is Saint Clair's collection of single-vineyard wines, each from a particular site in Marlborough, made to show how soil and aspect shape flavour. Each block is picked and made separately, and Block 1 gives a pure, classic varietal expression. The family has grown grapes in the region since the late 1970s and knows these sites well. The 2024 is pale green, with passionfruit, blackcurrant and a hint of flint, then blackcurrant and grapefruit with fine mineral elegance, a chalky texture and a subtle salty note on the finish.

Keep it cold. Pair with scallop ceviche, fresh oysters, a goat's cheese and beetroot salad or pan-fried flathead.
