Sam Miranda Riesling 2019

Sam Miranda Riesling is a dry, light King Valley white that is now picking up some bottle age.

The family behind the winery first made its name in the Riverina, and Sam now runs his own operation at Oxley, where the higher vineyards give the cool nights Riesling needs to hold its acidity. It is made the classic Australian way: fermented cool in stainless steel, unoaked and bottled young. A few years on, the citrus crunch of youth is softening and the toasty, honeyed notes of age are starting to show.

Lime and lemon up front, with toast and honey creeping in from its time in bottle. Serve at 8–10°C with Thai salads, grilled fish or pork.
