Serge Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé Tradition 2024

Serge Dagueneau Pouilly Fumé Tradition is a dry Sauvignon Blanc from Saint-Andelain, vinified entirely in tank and bottled under screwcap.

Pouilly-Fumé lies on the right bank of the upper Loire, opposite Sancerre, where Sauvignon Blanc is planted on Kimmeridgian marl, hard limestone and the bands of flint that give the appellation its smoky reputation. The Dagueneau family has been established at Saint-Andelain for generations, and this domaine farms a little over twenty hectares across those soil types. Tradition is the house's principal cuvée, assembled from parcels spread through the estate and fermented and raised entirely in stainless steel with no oak, so the fruit and the mineral edge stay in front. The screwcap closure suits a wine made to be drunk young rather than cellared at length.

Dry, brisk and citrus-driven, it is a classic partner for goat's cheese, oysters and green vegetable dishes; serve at around 8 to 10 degrees.
