Description

Shadowfax Midhill Chardonnay is a single-vineyard wine from the Macedon Ranges.

The Midhill vineyard sits high in the ranges on volcanic and sedimentary soils, where a late harvest and cold nights give Chardonnay real tension. Bottling the site separately is the point of the winery's single-vineyard range. Fermentation is with wild yeast in French oak, with extended lees ageing.

Serve at 12 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a rich fish dish. It rewards eight years.
