Shadowfax Minnow Mondeuse 2023

Shadowfax Minnow Mondeuse is a rare Australian bottling of an alpine French variety.

Mondeuse comes from Savoie in the French Alps, where it gives a dark, peppery, high-acid red, and there is almost none of it planted in Australia. Growing it in the cool Port Phillip zone is a deliberate bet on a variety suited to altitude and short seasons. The wine is made in a fresh style with minimal oak.

Serve slightly cool at 15 degrees with charcuterie, roast pork or a mushroom dish. Drink within six years.
