Description

Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay comes from one of the highest and coolest sites in the Adelaide Hills.

Lenswood sits on the eastern side of the Mount Lofty Ranges at around 500 metres, where harvest runs late and acidity stays high. The winery bought the vineyard in 2012 to sit alongside its M3 block at Woodside. Fruit is hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast in French oak, then matured on lees with malolactic fermentation used sparingly to keep the line taut.

Serve at 12 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or a gruyère tart. It rewards eight years.
