Sidewood Estate Chardonnay 2024

Sidewood Estate Chardonnay is a supple, lightly oaked Adelaide Hills white from one of the region's leading family-owned estates.

Owen and Cassandra Inglis took over the Sidewood property near Oakbank in 2004 and have steadily grown it into a substantial Adelaide Hills estate. The cool, high sites of the Hills give Chardonnay slow, even ripening, which keeps natural acidity bright while the fruit gains stone-fruit and citrus depth. For this Estate bottling the winemaking team uses a gentle hand with oak, adding a soft toasty and cashew edge without masking the fruit, and the finished wine carries a fine line of minerality. Picked at a modest 12.4% alcohol, it's a fresh, modern take on Hills Chardonnay made for drinking over the next few years.

Serve lightly chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees. It's an adaptable food wine: try it with Asian-style salads, roast pork or a mushroom risotto.
