Sidewood Estate Pinot Noir 2023

Sidewood Estate Pinot Noir is a seamless, savoury Adelaide Hills red with red fruit and forest-floor complexity.

The Adelaide Hills has become one of South Australia's most reliable addresses for Pinot Noir, thanks to its altitude and cooling breezes, and Sidewood's estate vineyards near Oakbank make the most of both. The fruit is handled gently in the winery to keep its perfume, so strawberries and cream sit over hints of bay leaf and forest floor. On the palate, red fruit meets a gamey note of wild mushroom, and ample yet delicate tannins lead to good length. At 13% alcohol, the wine keeps a light footprint while offering real complexity.

Serve at around 14 to 16 degrees. Roast duck or game with a side of wild mushrooms is the classic match. It's drinking beautifully now and will keep evolving with a few years of careful cellaring.
