Sidewood Estate Shiraz 2022

Sidewood Estate Shiraz is a cool-climate Adelaide Hills red with dark fruit, spice and silky tannins.

Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills has a different accent to its warmer Barossa and McLaren Vale neighbours, with more pepper, spice and lift, and Sidewood's estate plantings show this well. Grown in the higher, cooler parts of the region, the fruit ripens slowly and keeps its perfume. Red cherry, blackberry and olive sit alongside layered spice, and the palate adds dark chocolate, fresh raspberry and white pepper. Rich, silky tannins give the wine a seamless finish, with 14% alcohol providing weight without heaviness.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. It's lovely on its own and a versatile partner to filet mignon or truffle and porcini pasta. A brief decant will help it open up.
