Sidewood Estate Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay NV

Sidewood Estate Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay is a fresh, elegant Adelaide Hills sparkling from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The cool Adelaide Hills is among Australia's best regions for sparkling base wine, and Sidewood draws on its own vineyards for this non-vintage blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Partial malolactic fermentation softens the acidity and adds a creamy texture, while extended time on yeast lees builds biscotti and nougat complexity. The result pairs strawberry, lemon and nectarine fruit with a fine, cashew-edged richness, all held in shape by natural acidity. It's a well-made, well-priced sparkling with plenty of finesse.

Serve well chilled in a flute or white wine glass. It's great as an aperitif and also works with oysters, smoked salmon blinis or salt and pepper calamari.
