Sister's Run Bethlehem Block Cabernet 2023

Sister's Run Bethlehem Block Cabernet is a savoury, firmly structured Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa.

Sister's Run is a South Australian label whose wines carry names with a heritage ring, and whose tasting notes are written with a poet's flourish. The Bethlehem Block Cabernet is grown in the Barossa and shows the grape at its most characterful: black-purple in the glass, with blackberry, blueberry and cranberry fruit edged with musk, cinnamon, sage and a touch of cigar box. Tannins bring real grip and texture, as good Cabernet should, and fresh acidity at the finish keeps the wine upright and dignified. At 14.5% alcohol, it's rich and giving without being heavy.

Serve at 16 to 18 degrees, ideally after half an hour in a decanter. It suits chargrilled steak, lamb cutlets with rosemary or a hearty beef pie.
