Spinifex Miette Shiraz 2022

Spinifex Miette Shiraz is a medium-bodied Barossa Shiraz drawn from selected growers across the valley.

Balance and site expression come ahead of power in everything Pete Schell makes, and this is the most accessible expression of that thinking. Fruit is bought in from growers spread through the Barossa, which lets the wine hold onto regional generosity while keeping the freshness that marks the house style. The name comes from the French for crumbs, a nod to its origins as a wine made from what fell off the top table; it has long since become a label in its own right, and the most reliable entry point into the range.

Supple and polished, with blackberry, mulberry and violet, then pepper and dark cocoa, all framed by fine tannin and gentle acidity. Serve at 16 to 17 degrees. Roast lamb, a beef burger, or grilled mushrooms with thyme.
